About the Project
People in Their 20s is a short documentary series I created to explore the emotional, social, and psychological landscape of young adulthood. Each episode centers around a different individual in their twenties, offering an intimate look into the challenges that define this transformative stage of life. The entire project was self-produced with no equipment or budget, just me and my camera. It was posted on my Youtube channel. I also documented the behind-the-scenes process on TikTok (@ivanoutchi), sharing the journey as it unfolded.
For this project, I used my Canon camera for filming, and edited on Premiere Pro
Concept & Purpose
This project stemmed from my own experience of feeling lost in my early twenties — unsure of what direction to take, what career path to follow, and what it really meant to “figure things out.” I realized I wasn’t alone in this, and I wanted to create something that reflected the emotional ups and downs so many of us face during this time.
People in Their 20s was born from my passion for documentary storytelling, psychology, and real, human connection. Through honest, unscripted conversations, the series explores themes like identity, career pressure, relationships, mental health, and the often-overwhelming search for purpose.
My goal is to create something that resonates with people going through similar struggles — helping them feel seen, understood, and less alone.
